Mudslide x KK

The best ewe we have ever raised on this farm to date is one I call Anne Frank. After I saw the lamb that KK had in her first year for us, I was more than excited to watch her next lamb sired by Mudslide, grow up. Another big single ewe was fine for us, but she got her name because she was always hiding from me in the barn. When I did get to catch her as a baby I was always happy with her but it seemed as though she was always hiding when I wanted to find her. She was a sleeper by no means, but definitely the hide and seek champion. She’s sired by Mudslide and bred to 4434 which will give her lambs the following pedigree: 4434 (Real Steel x Mudslide’s twin sister) x Mudslide (Mudcat x 90 Proof)

Strange x Stetzin

This Strange x Stetzin ewe might be one of the best ewe purchases we’ve made. She’s good necked, sound structured, and has all the style and power of a BIG TIME wether dam. She’s out of the Spice Girl Line at Viking Genetics and this is another proven ewe line that Terry has talked about for years. This ewe was Reserve Supreme Ewe at our County Fair but quite a few people told me she should have beat the yearling. Either way, we are way excited about her and her pedigree says it all. When you add in the fact that she’s bred to our young buck lamb, it really gets us excited. The pedigree reads like this: 4434(Real Steal x Mudcat) X Jane (Strange x Stetzin). If that doesn’t scream at you with some of the freshest genetics out there, then you can go back to the jungle, Tarzan. There’s no doubt this girl will be a Donor and a key ewe line in our program down the road.

Super Tough x KK

We call her “Shrop” she was the Champion Shrop Market Lamb at the 2013 Cass County 4-H Fair, Converse Open show, and Reserve Shrop Market Lamb at the IJCLC Red & Black Classic Show B. She is the first one pictured above and I just love the body and stoutness on this one. She will no doubt be flushed next year. She’s been bred to Mudslide.

Moxie needs no introduction, being the sire of the Champion Suffolk at the 2013 North American he’s gonna be makin noise for years to come. We’re absolutely ecstatic to acquire his mom! She’s bred to Salute and honestly I’m lookin for a keeper ewe. I love the lambs that her twin sister (KK) has thrown for us and expect her to do the same if not better.

0184 is easily the nicest profiling ewe in the flock and she gave us Princess. Princess pushes the limits of moderation and gets about as clubby and chubby as you can get. She’s got big time shag, tons of foot and bone, and she’s soo soft bodied and maternal in her design. Her moderate frame, soft look, and extreme bone and shag had a club calf producer drooling. She’s out of Mudslide and bred to 4434. This should be an awesome mating.

She is Monique and she is a freak! This blue ewe is Sired by Strange and was the 2014 Grand Champion Market Lamb and Champion Natural Color at Cass County 4-H fair. I’m not a huge fan of the Natural Color sheep because usually they are narrow made, shallow bodied, and hard doin, but not this one! The above picture shows our 2014 show set in the rack and this was by far and away the best set of lambs we have ever shown and Monique rises to the top pretty fast in that picture. She weighed 126 when she won Grand and she had a ridge running down her back. There’s no doubt in my mind that the combination of her and the 4434 buck lamb will be an unstoppable combination.

I-G-G-Y write her name in bold! This is probably my favorite ewe when we talk about power and design. She’s maybe better than Monique in terms of her hip shape. Sired by Mudslide, she was a late lamb, but I knew she would have a lot of potential. She was never supposed to go to a County Fair due to the fact that she was not old enough or mature enough. Well being that she was the only one that had to be left at home the family chose to take her to their June 23rd County Fair. In the above picture, which was taken at the fair, she weighs 110 pounds. For a sheep to have a hip that big and massive at such a light weight is really impressive. She additionally had a groove running down her back but you can’t see it in the picture. Either way she stood Reserve that day to one that weighed in at 130 and I think she probably could have beat it as well. She was supposed to be shown at the State Fair but football got in the young mans way and it was rather shameful that this one only got shown once and at such a light weight, but that allowed us to get her fat and bred to 4434. She’s a classy white woman trapped in a black ghetto woman’s body. Easy Fleshing with style and Power to burn. She is Fancy.
